I really wish you all could have been there for the “What Wo(Men) Want” Roundtable on Thursday night. So many great talking points and an awesome, diverse group sharing their input. We covered everything from first date kisses and post date text etiquette to when it’s actually “exclusive” with someone new. Although there were some differing opinions the basic stuff is universal. Be YOURSELF. Get vulnerable. Ask thoughtful questions (but don’t interview) and listen intently to the answers. If you’re interested… (not to state the obvious but…) SHOW IT or say it!
Did you know that a person needs 8-9 separate queues before they feel like it’s safe to approach you? Making eye contact, a smile, a glance, taking your air pods out and your sunglasses off are all ways to indicate that you’re OPEN TO BE APPROACHED so get out there today and smile at a stranger. Invite them to speak to you or better yet, speak to them. You never know… By the way everyone at the roundtable, men and women alike, said YES! They want to be approached. Go get ‘em.

Being too aggressive: Coming on too strong can make the other person feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed. Balance is key; subtlety and mutual interest go a long way.
Using insincere compliments: Generic or overused lines can feel disingenuous. People appreciate authenticity, so it's important to tailor compliments and conversation to the person you're with.
Misunderstanding body language: Failing to recognize disinterest or discomfort can lead to awkwardness. Pay attention to their cues to ensure they’re engaged and comfortable with the interaction.
